Occupational Therapy
Parenting Foundations
Occupational therapists work closely with children and families incorporating a multi-developmental perspective which includes social-emotional, cognitive, and motor skills, as well as sensory processing. Home Therapy Solutions offers three adult-based support classes in order to help parents establish and maintain healthy connections with their children which will lead to healthy social-emotional development, better management of child behaviors, and thriving family environments. The program consists of classes that are offered in a small group format of two to seven participants. The parenting classes are relaxed and educational, however are not intended to take the place of therapy if indicated.
Studies indicate that positive parenting with regulated emotional skills
not only correlate to a child's healthy social-emotional development, but
significantly correlates to a child’s cognitive and executive skill development.
