​"Benway School was fortunate to have Lori Frommer, OTR/L present to our faculty in September 2016.  Benway School is a private special education school servicing students with behavioral, emotional and other disabilities. Behavior management is a daily struggle and we are constantly striving to inform our staff of  new approaches that may be available . Lori services our students in need of Occupational Therapy. This Professional Development opportunity was titled, “Putting the Sensation into Regulation.” This presentation was very comprehensive and provided our staff with a new perspective when viewing behaviors in our students. There were even connections to the staff; they were asked to describe their own Sensory Preferences. She also provided some “beginners’' resources including a Work Readiness Scale and a Behavioral Regulation Chart. Our staff continued to discuss the presentation and the strategies that were given. Lori was a dynamic speaker who energized our entire staff! One student was referred for an occupational evaluation based on the information Lori provided to our staff!
