Sensory Regulation Groups
a social experience for improved sensory-behaviors, focus, and attention
Occupational therapists work closely with children and families incorporating a multi-developmental perspective for dealing with motor coordination, social-emotional, and sensory-behavior concerns. Home Therapy Solutions offers non-therapy parent/child sensory groups to educate and provide tools to support improved sensory-behaviors, focus, and attention. Below are the three sensory group options, general format information, and upcoming schedule.

You will be able to start implementing these sensory behavior concepts toward improved focused behavior and attention immediately. The group registration is for 1 adult per 1 child age 4 - 5 and 6 - 8 years of age. Refer to additional information below.

Brain and Body Together is an interactive 6 session sensory motor class (small group of 3-5) re-introducing the Brain Gym® Three-Day Rotation of movements and postures for physical, mental, and emotional balance. This class will continue on with incorporating combinations of Brain Gym® using posture and movement to activate the brain for readiness to learn while specifically targeting academic skill areas. Refer to additional information below.
6 -10 years old and parent $20/wk; 30 minutes
11+ years old and parent $30 /wk; 45 minutes
Format: The classes follow a sequential pattern of training week to week with a review at the beginning of each class. A packet will be provided at the start of each series reflecting course content. If you've taken previous classes you will be able to combine as a cumulative resource. You and your child do not have to progress through all courses in order to benefit!! Within the structured format, this is a social opportunity for the children as well as for parents to meet other parents addressing similar issues. Subtle adjustments to planned format will be made at time of class based on group needs. Minimum of three registrants per class.
If your child is shy and doesn't perform the activities with the group, you the parent can still learn the concepts and techniques to implement at home. If you feel your child will not benefit from a group setting at this time due to extreme dysregulation and associated behaviors, or has significant coordination delays then you may want to consider starting with private treatment for a developmental and customized sensory program.
Please:
Registration/Payment/Refunds: Payment is expected in advance of group session start date via secured PayPal, even if your child is a private OT client. If a class is full or there aren't a minimum of three registrants which may result in the class being cancelled, then another class will be offered or a refund will be provided. There are no refunds for missed classes, as I keep the class group size small with low cost to registrant. I will do my best to offer a make-up if there is availability in another class.
Insurance: Available for those clients who received an OT evaluation and it is determined that a group format would be either solely beneficial or to complement a private therapy program. An invoice for insurance submission would be provided to you at the end of the 4 or 6 week session reflecting attendance dates, group session fee (significantly less than individual session), and the appropriate codes for submission to out-of-network insurance benefits. Insurance reimbursement is not guaranteed. I do not receive insurance payments. Insurance submission is not required in order to participate in groups.
* The more that word gets out to parents and classes fill, the more classes that will be available for alternate options. Invite a friend or two!
