How long are sessions and how many times a week do we come for therapy?
The evaluation incorporates the information provided during the initial phone consultation, the developmental history filled out in advance of the first session by the parent, results from initial session testing and clinical observations, and scoring with write up of report. Initial evaluation session time is reserved for 1 1/4 - 2 hours. Treatment sessions in the clinic are typically 60 minutes with the parent present for observing and learning strategies to incorporate at home. Sessions at the home are 60 minutes. With progress and ability to perform home program, the frequency of clinic sessions are typically one time per week. There are circumstances that two times a week is recommended. As your child progresses, recommendations may be offered to decrease frequency and/or duration of sessions.
